Crazy-hazy-pollen-song

My eyes are droopy and my nose has started objecting to my breathing quite so freely – yep, spring has finally broken in the UK, and with summer like qualities the amount of pollen in the air has been frightening. I only started suffering from hayfever my last summer at university (most inconvenient), and it’s been with me ever since. It’s a strange thing because, not only do you tend to forget about it during the winter, you also forget how tedious and awkward it can make things during the summer.

Having to be sure to grab your antihistamines (poor histamines, getting a bad rap), the increased eye itchiness and tiredness come sunset as well as the increased snoring volume visited upon your friends and family..it all adds up to little bits of awkwardness. Granted, it’s nothing big but you do notice it.

This morning though, it occured to me that off all the cool things I did last summer, of all the time spent outside at festivals, in parks, house-hunting and job hunting, none of them seem to be tinged with hayfever. My mind has wiped them from my memory.

Memory is good like that. It also lead me to forget the reason I started writing this in the first place: I’m crazy tired and want to go to sleep. So, just a short update and no substance for you dedicated reader. Sorry!

Until next time.
